First Family Picture

`Finally` after 10 days, our very first family picture. This is one of the happiest moment of our life, we finally managed to get closer to our
baby girl Akisha. She's very very cute and she really looks like me.
She actually got the same nose as mine, we also have the same eyes, same lips and even the shape of my face. Fortunately she didn't got my skin color, cause i am "moreno" in color or brown, she got her skin tone from my wife.
I hope that we can take her home soon, her pediatrician said that she still need stay in hospital so that her condition will still be properly supervised.  She needs to drink more milk, as of this day she can now tolerate an amount of 20ml of milk. And her pediatrician says that she can come home if she can take at least 30ml of milk every 2 hours, so meaning 10ml more. Go go go Akisha you can do it.

Need To Treat Her Jaundice

This is a video of our premature baby Akisha Denise while she was under the bright lights or what they called Bili lights. According to her pediatrician this is required in order for them to treat her jaundice. Her eyes was covered with eye patches to protect them from glare

On The Third Day

This picture was taken June 20, 2009, this is the third day from our baby's birth.  As you can see Akisha was already out from the incubator, and her oxygen support was already removed,    thank God for the fast recovery.  Unfortunately her dextrose was still there to support her feeding, according to he pediatrician she still have problems sucking milk out of feeding bottle that's why she still needs the feeding support.
Our Akisha Denise was very cute in this picture and more active. She starts to feed some milk but she can only tolerate 2cc for every two hours. Its quite very small in amount but the good thing is she already started to feed through a feeding bottle.  And to make sure her health we make sure that she still drinks breast milk from wife, even though our baby is still in the hospital we provide her a supply of breast milk coming from wife every morning and in the afternoon.

When She Came...

This picture was taken June 17, 2009 a minute after she came out from her mothers womb, she weighs 1.4 kilo or just about 3 pounds, she measures 27 cm.  According to my wife's ob gynecologist and pediatrician our baby is only 32 weeks.  My wife been to this early delivery because she got a uterine rupture.  Good thing that we have the best doctor in Bulacan, she manage taked good care of my wife and our baby, thanks to our OB, Dra. Luisa Cruz.  Our baby was delivered through cesarean section at San Roque Hospital in Malolos City Philippines, and was received by her pediatrician Dr. Raul Fernandez.
Because our baby was a premature, she was placed inside an incubator and she needs an oxygen support for her breathing and a dextrose for her feeding support.
I really can't explain what I felt from the very moment that I saw her in this kind of situation, it's just like everything have stop from a while, I can't think anything, but her.  I really wanted to help but nothing I can do but to pray and hope that every will be alright.

During my wife's pregnancy we already wrote down some names that we can give to our baby.  And the best name that we have chosen is Akisha Denise.  The name Akisha is just a Japanese word or name cause my wife likes Javanese name, and Denise is derived from my name Dennis, we just made it sounds like a girl.
