First Family Picture

Finally after 10 days, the first family picture. This was one of the happiest time of my life, finally I have touched my baby girl. She's very cute and she looks like me. She got my nose, my eyes, my lips and the shape of my face. Fortunately she didn't got my skin color, cause i am "moreno" in color or brown, she got her skin color from my wife. I hope we can take her home soon, her pediatrician said she can't come home yet, she needs to drink more milk, as of this day she can now tolerate 20ml of milk. And her pediatrician says that she can come home if she can tolerate at least 30ml of milk every 2 hours.

Need To Treat Her Jaundice

This was the video of our premature baby Akisha Denise while she was under the bright lights. According to her pediatrician this was needed to treat her jaundice. Her eyes was covered with eye patches to protect them from glare

On The Third Day

This was her picture taken June 20, 2009, it was her 3rd day She has been remove from the incuvator, and her oxygen support was already removed, but her dextrose was still there to support her feeding. She was very cute, and more active now. She starts to feed some milk but she can only tolerate 2cc for every two hours. Its quite very small in amount but the good thing is , she starts to feed, and she drinks breast milk from wife and because she is in the hospital I was the one who always delivered the milk that have been pumped by my wife.

When She Came...

This picture was taken June 17, 2009 a minute after she came out from her mothers womb, she weighs 1.4 kilo or about 3 pounds, her height was 27 cm. And according to my wife's ob gynecologist and to the pediatrician who received her she was only 32 weeks. She was needed to be delivered this early because my wife have what they called uterine rupture.
She was delivered by my wifes OB, Dra. Luisa Cruz through cesarean section at San Roque Hospital in Malolos City Philippines, and was received by her pediatrician Dr. Raul Fernandez. And because she was a premature she was placed in an incubator and she has an oxygen support and with dextrose for her feed support. I can't explain what I feel from the moment I saw her in that situation, it's just like everything have stop from a while, I can't think anything, but her.
The name that we have given to her was Akisha Denise. During my wife's pregnancy we already think of some names that we can give to our baby, my wife was the who think for the girls name and I am the who thin for a boy's name.
